General Support
For general support to eliminate legal, domestic and bureaucratic obstacles to domestic and international adoption by providing research tools and education to policymakers and nongovernmental agencies to challenge increasingly restrictive adoption policies; develop model legislation of domestic adoption laws so that the rights of children, adoptive parents and birth parents are safeguarded; develop model legislation to govern international adoption; provide 'best practice' research on the optimum policy environment to support adoption and protect orphaned children from abuse and neglect; and disseminate the results of this work.
