Strengthening Native American Philanthropy

Total Award: $25,000 over 1 year

To support Strengthening Native American Philanthropy (SNAP) to strengthen and support the development of Native philanthropic assets and Native participation in philanthropy by encouraging social investment in tribes and Native nonprofits. SNAP plans to 1) convene a group of Native and mainstream philanthropic leaders to provide insight and input into the design and implementation of a structure to support the further development of Native foundations and philanthropy; 2) design and implement a Native funders collaboration to support grantmaking to Native development efforts, and 3) provide technical assistance to tribes interested in developing their own foundations.
