As an aid for prospective grantseekers, we offer below statistical information on the Foundation's 1993 grants for the areas in which we invite grant proposals: arts, environment, health, Jewish life, and interprogram ("core grants").

In 1993, the median grant amount was $50,000; the mean, or average, grant was $61,135. Our largest 1993 core grant was $415,500; we generally do not make core grants below $20,000. We made 84 one year grants, 31 two year grants; and 10 three year grants. Of the 125 core grants made by the foundation in 1993, 70 were new grants and 55 were renewals.
