Factory: Reconsidered

Nina Ross

Pre-Hispanic sculpture holds a strong attraction for me because it's about exploring mysterious religions, unknown gods and intriguing events.

Expressionistic, simple, imaginative, often small and personal, the sculptures draw in the viewer to decipher their stories. They call for attention and thought, inspiring me to turn my own thoughts into tangible forms. To do this, I prefer using discarded materials disposed of by business and industry. Recycling trash into new objects appeals to me because of the challenge of making art out of refuse.
