Rebecca Guberman

Rebecca Guberman uses photography to create intimate and intensely personal commentaries on being HIV positive. She says of this work "I need to see the HIV in my own blood to break down the walls of denial - and to find a new relationship with the medical people. I wanted to see how they see, to find the point at which the sterile and the organic meet - what they see and how I feel. Combining them leads to greater understanding and personal acceptance.

The book format allows so much more information to be given and it allows the possibility of touch. The book acts as a metaphor for continuous learning."
