To support the Apollo Project, a public education initiative to create a broad constituency for public investment in environmentally sustainable development and good jobs. The project will focus on the multiple benefits of a national clean energy investment program. These include the creation of high-wage jobs through the reinvigoration of the U.S. industrial sector, increased national and global security by reducing reliance on middle-east oil, and authentic solutions to global warming. There are four lead partners in Apollo – Common Assets Defense Fund (CADF), Institute for America's Future (IAF), University of Wisconsin-Madison's Center on Wisconsin Strategies (COWS), and Americans for Energy Freedom (AEF). NCF support would allow these partners to: 1) develop a labor-business-environmental coalition; 2) host a retreat for alliance partners; 3) conduct additional public opinion research; 4) develop a national public education campaign; and 5) generate media coverage that helps shape the public debate about the economy, jobs, energy, security and the environment.
