Three NCF Grantees Recognized as Young Global Leaders 2009 by the World Economic Forum
We are extremely proud to share that three of our grantees, Ronit Avni from Just Vision, Eboo Patel from Interfaith Youth Core, and Van Jones from Green for All, were selected to be among 230 "Young Global Leaders" from business, government, academia, media, non-profit organizations and the arts. More than 5000 candidates applied, and 230 were selected by a committee, chaired by Queen Rania Al Abdullah, comprising 31 eminent international media leaders, including Steve Forbes, Shekhar Gupta, Arthur Sulzberger, Nabil A. Al Khatib, Robert Thomson and Mehmet Ali Yalçindag. Other YGL members include Sergey Brin and Tiger Woods.
Rabbi Morris Allen, founder of Hekhsher Tzedek, named #1 of this year's Forward 50 because of his critical work with Agriprocessors.
